Holistic Wellness Coach: Isabel Gutierrez
Having dealt with health complications early in life, Isabel is aware that wellness is not one-size fits all. "This awareness has helped me realize that you must be your own health and wellness advocate. To truly enjoy a holistic wellness balance you need truly to learn to listen to how your body reacts to everything you put into or onto it, all the while researching what would health care would be the best fit for you." She continues, "At Yaxkin Spa, we aim to help you create a personalized awareness and understand the uniqueness of yourself. Love your natural beauty and find your balance." Her background in Anthropology with a concentration in Mayan Studies helps her look at wellness from various cultural perspectives, which demonstrate that throughout human history different ancient cultures tackled the same health issues in various ways. The way ancient cultures perceived, approached, and addressed wellness provides an important complement to the advances of modern medicine. Taking into account various ancient medicinal practices and honing the ability to follow what works for your own body and not simply following the latest "health" trend, are her primary motivations which she shares with Yaxkin Spa guests.
